An announcement from Fifth Freedom
Starting February 2014, the Social Security Administration will no longer offer Social Security number (SSN) printouts and benefit verification information in field offices. Printouts and benefit verification information will be available by request until April 1, 2014.
 
Social Security recipients who need a benefit verification letter can get one online by registering for a My Social Security account at http://fifthfreedom.org/u/myss . You can also get a benefit verification letter through the mail within 5 to7 days by calling the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213.
