MESSAGE FROM THE CEO    
  Our organization has connected with so many families and professionals around the world. To date, we’ve heard from folks in 119 countries. After 33 years of service, we are suspending operations. Our funding sources were shrinking and the demand for help was increasing. We finally had to make the difficult decision to close our office and go virtual. I will attempt to personally answer questions via our “contact us” link. However, this will only occur once per month. If your need for answers can’t wait (and we realize that is often true), we suggest you contact the Autism Society’s information line.     
  I plan to blog occasionally on our site. However, as I reach what most people consider “retirement age”, I’m slowing down my pace and enjoying family and friends. I love to travel and do workshops and presentations… that isn’t work to me, it is fun. So, if you want to connect with me about presenting, use our Facebook page or the contact us link.     
  The need for our newsletter was tremendous through most of our years in service, as it was the very first one that addressed the needs and issues of those individuals on the autism spectrum considered “on the higher level.” Now, many wonderful publications are doing a great job of that. I recommend you subscribe to Disability Scoop (an e newsletter) and the Autism Spectrum Quarterly. Both will keep you well informed on new findings and important issues concerning all on the autism spectrum.     
  Every day we have served our readers has been fulfilling and a wonderful experience. Ideas and approaches we have created are used worldwide. Our Board of Directors, Board of Professional Advisors and I thank you for our contact with your lives. We wish each of you happiness, health and success.
